How it works!
Refrigerant runs through a fan coil (the evaporator) and because the refrigerant is colderthan air, it collects heat energy from the air, which vaporizes the refrigerant. This vapor is then compressed, raising its pressure and temperature. The high temperature vapor is passed through coils of copper tube immersed in the water heater tank. As the refrigerant vapor condenses back into its liquid form, it gives off its heat to the stored water.
